Fin

Hi. I want to tell to you about my cat Fin.

He has a flat face.

He thinks he is a dog! Yes, a dog. He has to eat out of a flat dish. He will push the dish around the place he eats just to eat the the food. When I feed him after school and I am walking out of the room, he thinks he can trick my mom that he has not been fed! That actually happen once.

That is not all the things he does.  He brings down stuffed animals, sandwich bags and more. When we were away he brought down all Luke’s stuffed animals and mine. A little rascal.

There will be a part 2.

My Horse Show

IMG_8638

In June, I went to a horse show. I rode a horse named Ryanne who is a Mustang. She is 29 years old and a sweetheart!

The day before my show, I practiced my dressage test on Ryanne and gave her a bath. Also, I cleaned the saddle and bridle.

The morning of the show I got to the barn very early, so that Ryanne could be braided. Then I groomed her and tacked her up. I warmed up in the indoor before it was time for me to ride my test in the outdoor arena. They called my name when I was on deck which means I was next.

I was very excited during my test and Ryanne did great. She didn’t spook at all. I can’t wait to do another show!

If You’re Not From Vermont . . .

If You’re Not From Vermont . . .

(a form change poem with thanks to David Bouchard, If You’re Not From the Prairie . . .)

If you’re not from Vermont,

You don’t know rocks.

You can’t know rocks.

Rocks, yes, rocks!

Shiny and dull, all of them count.

We love them all.

If you’re not from Vermont,

You just don’t know rocks.

If you’re not from Vermont,

You don’t know the swinging.

The breeze gets in your hair,

And the rocking could put a baby to sleep.

If you’re not from Vermont,

You don’t know me,

You just can’t know ME.

You see, my feet are the paddles in the clear water,

My heart gets tickled by the growing grass,

My hands are a frog net.

I’ve been here.

I’ve nested here.

My home is Vermont,

And I will stay here.
